In principle, almost all pendants can be gold-plated – whether made of silver, stainless steel, brass or bronze. The basic body of the trailer is crucial. Particularly with silver and stainless steel, very long-lasting results are achieved. Costume jewelry is also possible, but it should be noted that the durability is often somewhat shorter. Our experts examine each pendant individually and advise on which gold plating makes sense.

Pendants are subject to less friction than rings, so they are usually more durable. As a guideline: approx. 1 year per micrometer layer thickness with normal use. Light, fine pendants can reach up to 1.1 years per µm, while massive pendants can reach 0.9 years. With good care – e.g. removing excess fat when showering or exercising and avoiding contact with perfume – the service life can be significantly extended.

For everyday use, we recommend 3 µm gold plating – this is the sweet spot between price and durability. 5 µm is optimal if the pendant is worn very frequently or if it is a particularly valuable piece. 1 µm is only suitable for collectors or pieces of jewelry that are hardly ever worn. This will ensure that your pendant retains its shine permanently.

The gold plating forms a noble protective layer over the pendant and enhances shine and color, without changing the character of the piece of jewelry.

Standard processing usually takes 10-14 business days . During this time, your pendant will be polished, thoroughly cleaned, gold-plated and then tested. What matters is how you deal with it in everyday life. Remove the pendant before showering, swimming or exercising, avoid direct contact with perfume, sweat or chemicals, and clean it gently with a soft cloth.
